Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum & Arts Centre, North Uist, in association with Lews Castle College, Stornoway, offer two nationally-recognised qualifications in Art & Design.


Our award-winning annual National Certificate in Art and Design is open to all, subject to the college's usual entry requirements. This course will take you through a broad based programme of study, and provide you with a portfolio of work for applying onwards.


The BA Fine Art, level 1 (Certificate of Higher Education in Fine Art) and Level 2 (Diploma of Higher Education in Fine Art), are offered in partnership with Moray College in Elgin. The environmental focus of this course draws from the unique geography and culture of the Uists.


Our resident tutors are complemented by nationally acclaimed professional artists, which means that we can offer training in a wide-range of traditional and contemporary disciplines, including textiles, animation, photography and printmaking.
The courses are based at the Arts Centre itself - the idyllic rural surroundings for to pursue these arts courses, whether you choose to pursue the full course which runs for 1 academic year, or join us to study individual components.
