Our Café is located at the heart of the Taigh Chearsabhagh and offers wonderful views across the Lochmaddy lagoons towards the distant hills of the Isle of Harris. When the weather allows, our outdoor boardwalk seating area is an unbeatable vantage point for leisurely al fresco lunches or a quick tea break.
Every day we provide a seasonal menu of freshly made soups, sandwiches, salads, tasty toasties and home baking using a wide range of locally sourced ingredients provided by islands-based suppliers, including the Hebridean Smokehouse, Charles MacLeod of Stornoway and Skydancer Coffee, based on South Uist.
While Covid-19 restrictions still apply, we have a reduced number of tables with a maximum capacity of 24 people. Additional seating for a further 16 people is available outside on the boardwalk. Patrons do not need to book a table before visiting Taigh Chearsabhagh. While waiting to be seated by one of our waitresses, we ask that customers make use, via the QR code provided, of the NHS Scotland Test & Protect tracing service.
The café is open from 10am to 4pm Monday – Wednesday and Friday – Saturday. The café is closed on Thursdays although the rest of Taigh Chearsabhagh, including the shop and galleries, remain open.
We look forward to welcoming you to our cafe!
