Join us for a warm, relaxed evening with Frances Mary Driscoll, Tobar an Dualchais Artist in Residence on Monday 16th February, 7pm.
Frances is a Glasgow-based multidisciplinary artist and fluent Gaelic speaker whose playful work blends collage, image and text to explore how culture is borrowed, remade and passed on. She’s particularly interested in language and how words and images don’t always tell the same story.
This event is a hands-on celebration centred around bonnach: (n. masc. /b?N?x/, gen. & pl. -aich), bannock, savoury cake.
We’ll bake bonnaich, chat about cooking for celebration days, swap recipes and stories and collage together – you’ll also have the chance to create your own bonnach book. Suitable for all ages.
If you have bonnaich memories or recipes, please bring them along to share – all are very welcome.
Places are limited so please book your free ticket through our online ticketing system below. If you have any allergies or access requirements, please email taigh@taigh-chearsabhagh.org at time of booking.
