To tie in with the Think Plastic: Materials and Making exhibition, Taigh Chearsabhagh and Applied Arts Scotland are running a workshop for makers interested in crafting a more environmentally sustainable practice. This workshop will help you explore your own approaches to materials and making, identify good practice and stimulate an exchange of ideas.
The workshop will give practical insights and structures for rethinking your current processes including your use of energy and materials. Using resources from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Circular Design Guide you will have the chance to review your ways of working and identify positive changes you can make to the environmental impact of your business and lifecycle of your products and services.
Maker and exhibitor Carol Sinclair will be sharing how she and the other exhibitors are making more consciously and give examples of changes to their practice. Facilitator Fiona Pilgrim will lead the workshop guiding you through the frameworks to help you evaluate your current work and materials, and highlighting opportunities for reducing your carbon footprint.
Think Plastic – Materials & Making exhibition is in Galleries 1 & 2 till 28 August.
