Hebridean Whale Trail: Species ID and Whale Track training + Guided Headland Watch

Join Caroline, from the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust, and receive training on the different species of whales, dolphins and porpoises seen around the west coast of Scotland. Step by step training on how to identify and report sightings on our citizen science Whale Track app and top tips for spotting. Put the skills into practice afterwards with a guided headland watch at Balranald beach.

The Species ID training will take place at Taigh Chearsabhagh from 2pm-3.30pm. There will then be the chance to join the headland watch at Balranald from 4pm.

These events are free but you can donate to the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust here: https://hwdt.org/donate-1

Caroline Willis of the HWDT will also be giving a short talk at A Gathering of Air and Sea in Hosta Hall on Saturday 16th.

These events are part of a series of free activities taking place over the weekend, linked to Mhairi Killin’s On Sonorous Seas exhibition in Gallery 2 at Taigh Chearsabhagh.
