Broad Reach is proud to present ‘A Life in Print’ by one of Scotland’s most popular and acclaimed artists, Alasdair Gray.
The prints on display have been selected from the artist’s personal archive and are rarely seen in public. These works survey his recent prints which carry his trademark illustrative style and dark sensibility. A prolific polymath Gray has worked as a teacher, painter, illustrator, playwright, scene painter, essayist, poet, novelist and muralist. Several of the works are based on his poem The Scottish Hippo and demonstrate his talent seamlessly crossing and blurring the boundaries between literature and art.
This satellite exhibition is part of The Alasdair Gray Season, which celebrates Gray at eighty years old across venues including The Glasgow School of Art, GOMA, Kelvingrove Museum, Glasgow Print Studio and Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum and Art Centre.
