Hebridean Pieces presents an unpopulated landscape in which only what is discarded remains. The exhibition presents an installation of photographs and found ceramic.
“When I explore these islands it is not the landscape which takes my breath although it is very beautiful. But I am breathless by the richness of traces left by the ones who lived and live in this landscape. I try to capture this richness. By picking up pieces of crockery and laying them carefully one by one on the gallery floor. By taking photos of tapes and other leftovers and presenting them carefully on the gallery wall. Showing the beauty of each piece and leaving them to the imagination of those who discover them like I once discovered them.”
