The Best is Yet to Come: Spoken word with Katharine Macfarlane

Join us on Friday 13th June at 7pm for a re-scheduled evening of spoken word, exploring hope and sharing stories of joy. Poet and performer Katharine Macfarlane will share writing from her latest collection, Home Words, and other poetry.  Expect to be delighted!

You are invited to bring your own hopeful stories and poems to share at the Open Mic, no need to book a slot, just let us know on the night that you have some words to share.

Assistance is available for travel to the event. If required, please email susannah@taigh-chearsabhagh.org and we will try our best to help.

Katharine Macfarlane is an award-winning Scottish performance poet and educator whose lyrical poetry is rooted in the history, landscape and folklore of Scotland. With a passion for creating connections, celebrating communities and championing underrepresented voices her work explores themes such as identity, tradition, environment, relationships, parenthood, violence and journeys.

The evening of spoken word follows an afternoon workshop and community meal, to be held earlier in the day. Please see the workshop event page if you are interested in participating.

This event was originally planned for November 2024 as part of Book Week Scotland, championing Hope in all its forms. The poetry evening is free to attend, but if you would like to support our continued programming and enable us to keep offering free events, please consider making a donation to Taigh Chearsabhagh.
