More Info:
The Writing Group meets at Taigh Chearsabhagh, usually on the first Saturday of the month from 10.30 am – 12.30 pm. It is a very informal, friendly group of people who want to write for many varied reasons. Each meeting begins with a writing exercise which explores some aspect of writing. Members of the group then share the output from this. This exercise may then be used as a starting point for new work. We often try to respond to exhibitions in the galleries or the museum.
During the second part of the morning, members share whatever project they are working on at the moment. This gives them the opportunity to present their work to a wider audience and to receive feedback.
Each year, the group produces a small pamphlet of their poems, essays and short stories, which is launched during one of the poetry evenings.
