**This event is now fully booked**
We are delighted to have poet Rody Gorman lead this month’s writing workshop, on Thursday 27th March, 2pm-4pm. There are very few places remaining as this workshop was previously advertised in January, and tickets must be booked in advance.
Rody lectures in creative writing in English and Gaelic so this is a great opportunity to write in English or to get help with writing in Gaelic. There will be discussion and writing exercises in this workshop and participants are asked to bring along one of their own poems in English or Gaelic (with 10 copies).
This workshop is free but spaces are limited, therefore booking is essential. Please book a free ticket via our online system below.
Rody will also be reading from his latest publication, “Sweeney”, at our poetry evening on Thursday 27th March at 7.30pm. This event is free and all are welcome to come along.
Rody Gorman was born in Dublin in 1960 and now lives on Skye. He lectures in creative writing and edits the annual bilingual anthology An Guth. He also works as an official and literary translator, with versions to his name of work by Cavafy, Yeats, Neruda, Milosz, Rósewicz, Popa, Holub, Aspenstrom and Snyder amongst others translated into Gaelic.
Rody has published collections of his own poetry in English, Irish and Scottish Gaelic including Fax(1996), Flora From Lusitania (2005) and Zonda? Khamsin? Sharaav? Camanchaca? (2006) and Beartan Briste/Burstbrokenshroudloomdeeds (2011). His selected poems, Chernilo, were published in 2006.
