Spaces still available for Saturday 10th and 17th June!
What do Saturday afternoons sound like? Yours could be sonorous with our special series of sound workshops designed by our musician-in-residence Duncan MacLeod.
We’re hosting three sessions here at Taigh Chearsabhagh with artist Calum Ferguson where you will learn ways in which sound can be used to create music and sound effects.
Over the course of the three sessions you will learn how to record and edit sound using specialist equipment that can record indoors and outdoors. You will also have the chance to experiment with weird and wonderful technologies that can record sound underwater and underground!
These free sessions are intended for 8-14 year olds who are curious about working with sound and music. Calum will be using Gaelic and English throughout the workshops – you are welcome to move between languages too.
These sound sessions will involve a combination of indoor and outdoor activities. Please bring suitable clothing and footwear, bearing in mind how changeable the weather can be. If you have wired headphones of your own, bring those along as well.
If you’d like to join just one or two sessions, you’re very welcome to. Choose which week to book your space for using the options at the foot of the page.
