In this workshop we will consider the different ways that human relationships with geology have been expressed in writing. Using the method of ‘extractive’ poetry we will then create our own short poems, reflecting our lived relationship with familiar geologic bodies.
AJ Stockwell’s multi-modal practice crosses sculpture, audio, performance and installation. Often borrowing languages from other disciplines, their practice considers our bodily connection to place through an expanded tongue. Their current work re-imagines the relationship between human and geologic bodies through a queer, neurodiverse lens.
