As part of the Outer Hebrides Wildlife Festival, RSPB Outer Hebrides have asked local artists and photographers to showcase artwork based on the local wildlife of the islands. Through art and photography, we can get a glimpse of the identifying features of the birds and wildlife that live around us and a chance to think about how wonderful and magnificent they are, one of the reasons the Outer Hebrides Wildlife Festival was established.
Join us for the launch of the newly opened Operation: Broken Feather exhibition. We will hear from guest speaker Professor Frank Rennie, author of ‘Corncrake: An Ecology of an Enigma’, and celebrate the start of the Outer Hebrides Wildlife Festival 2023. All are welcome to this special event, from 2pm on Thursday 22nd June.
The exhibiting artists for this year’s Outer Hebrides Wildlife Festival are Sharon MacPherson, Raphael Rychetsky, Vanessa Wright, Shona MacLellan and Ralph Tonge.
With thanks to Siân Swinton who designed the poster and banners for this exhibition. Siân’s work was chosen from a selection created by the NC Art & Design students working at the studios in Taigh Chearsabhagh as part of UHI Outer Hebrides.
