Pecha Kucha: an evening of very short talks!

By popular demand UHI Outer Hebrides and Taigh Chearsabhagh are bringing back the regular Pecha Kucha evening: A fun and informal evening of very short talks on a variety of subjects in response to a theme. December’s theme is: GROUND
What is a Pecha Kucha?

A Pecha Kucha is a very short talk! The format is 20 slides, with 20 seconds for each slide, so the talk ends up just over 6 minutes long. Each talk is strictly timed! It’s a fun, fast format to work with; a great practice for those who are new to presenting, and a great exercise for those who are more well versed.

For this round of Pecha Kucha, the theme is GROUND.  The subject can be mundane or surreal, personal or universal. Past talks have included: lines, dry stone walls, traditional tools, ecology, and cabinets of curiosity.

Presenters and subjects will be announced soon. There will be regular breaks for refreshments and conversation.

Would you like to present? Please send expressions of interest to Rosie Blake rosie.blake@uhi.ac.uk by Friday 18th of November. Feel free to email with questions and queries too.

Rosie will be send out hints and tips to all interested folk, and running a Pecha Kucha 101 on Wednesday 16th November at 6pm – 6.30pm (on Zoom). This is a good time to drop in and ask any questions you may have or float some ideas you might have for a talk. Please email Rosie for the link.
