Life in the Islands
Footage from the Faodail | Found Film Archive of the Outer Hebrides from the 1930s to the 1980s, charting changing ways of life in the islands, exploring the social history – family life, crofting, travel as well as the natural environment. The strong community ties of past generations still influence the islands today.
Faodail | Found: Beatha nan Eilean, is a new documentary from UistFilm, to be broadcast on BBC Alba this Hogmanay. We are delighted to offer a special preview of Beatha nan Eilean, in Gallery 2 on Friday 19th December, 3pm. Suitable for all ages, the film is mostly in Gaelic, with English subtitles.

With grateful thanks to MG ALBA for their continued support of the FAODAIL | FOUND Outer Hebrides Film Archive project. We are increasing access to the FAODAIL | FOUND archive with the support of the BFI Screen Heritage Fund, awarding funds from the National Lottery.
