Seaweed: Poetry Evening

Last Thursday of the month: Literature evenings series

This will be an open mic poetry session on the theme of seaweed – as food or fuel or fertiliser or just as beautiful lifeforms that inhabit our shores.

We will share some poems about seaweed, led by sailor-poet Mandy Haggith from Assynt, whose latest poetry book Briny is all about the sea, with special guest readers from Japan, Akiko Ogawa and Tomoko Kanayama, and Canadian Sarah Wagner. Please feel welcome to bring along algal words to share, whether that is something you have written yourself or a favourite poem or passage by another author.
