Everyone is welcome to join the Uist Arts Association in Taigh Chearsabhagh Café for their Annual Meeting.
The UAA was instrumental in the establishment of the Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum and Arts Centre and continues to be involved in steering the running and development of this award-winning centre. This meeting will include the attendance of Simon Hart, Business & Development Director at Taigh Chearsabhagh and he will speak on Taigh Chearsabhagh’s plans and ambitions for the next few years.
The UAA are also interested in receiving feedback regarding ways in which they can improve the support they provide to their members. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
The Uist Arts Association (UAA) was formed in 1989 by a group of people interested in promoting and facilitating the arts in the Uists. Such members included local artists, makers, writers, and those keen to support arts activities and appreciation.
The UAA is involved in arts education, exhibitions, cultural development, literature and writing. Every year, the UAA arranges the ‘Art On The Map Open Studio Trail’ during the summer and an annual open exhibition each winter. The UAA has well over 100 members and is open to anyone who would like to either join or simply support the committee and its activities. You don’t need to be an artist or maker, just the enthusiasm to see that arts flourishes on the Uists.
Both the UAA and Taigh Chearsabhagh are looking forward to seeing you there. Refreshments will be provided to all.
