Join us on Monday of Book Week Scotland 2023 to hear local poet and writer Eve McLachlan reading her choice of poems. Eve is a community news reporter, living and working in Uist and often reads her captivating work for us at the Last Thursdays Poetry Evenings in Taigh Chearsabhagh. Please join us on Monday 18th November, at 7.30pm, for this a wonderful opportunity to hear more of her work.
Following Eve’s reading, we will have an Open Mic session where you are welcome to share poems on the theme of Hope, in any interpretation you can think of. New dawns, guiding lights, hope for the world, the best is yet to come… what colour is hope? You can also add your contribution to our “add a line poem” for the week.
This event is hosted as part of Book Week Scotland, championing Hope in all its forms. Our programme of events for this year’s Book Week Scotland includes:
- Thursday 21st November, 2.30pm: Creative Writing Workshop & Community Meal – Pockets of Joy, Pòcaidean Toileachais, with Katharine Macfarlane
- Thursday 21st November, 7.30pm: The Best is Yet to Come: Spoken word with Katharine Macfarlane
- Friday 22nd November, 7.00pm: Opening night of Glacial Narratives: The Greenlandic Chapter, with exhibition publication launch
Monday’s poetry evening is free to attend, but if you would like to support our continued programming and enable us to keep offering free events, please consider making a donation to Taigh Chearsabhagh.
