Saturday 4th, 11th and 18th February, 2.00pm-3.30pm.
The theme of these three afternoon workshops is Gàidhlig folklore. In these workshops the children will have the opportunity to creatively explore characters from Gàidhlig folklore through cyanotype and clay. Their creative interpretations will then be shared with the community through a café exhibition. Through the process we will talk about the features of the different characters and the stories behind them.
The three sessions will introduce and enable the children to experiment in different materials using cyanotype, clay modelling, found objects and collage. In session 1 the children will be introduced to and explore folklore characters and create cyanotype artworks on paper. In session 2 we will explore these characters further in 3 dimensions using clay and found objects. In the final session we will combine the 3D models with cyanotype to create our final exciting artistic works for the exhibition.
Recommended for ages 8-14 years.
Another workshop Glas ’s Gorm: Alternative Cyanotype will be held on 25th February, recommended for young people aged 12-18 years.
